If vaccinations are required then they are administered during the same appointment.

  • Any past vaccination history you have is helpful, but not absolutely necessary. If you have a chronic health condition or a history of complex health needs if you are able, please bring a letter from your GP or Specialist If not no problem, discussion of your medical your history is all part of your consultation prior to administration of vaccinations and/or medication.

  • Yes, you do, as we have no ongoing medical relationship with you. We do not just offer a vaccination delivery/administration service. All vaccines are prescribed medications that come with benefits and risks. You need to be seen by one of our travel medicine specialist in the first instance who will review your medical history, make a current-day assessment and consider your destination. This is essential before recommending and assuming nil medical contraindication, prescribe the medication/vaccination appropriately and safely.

    It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the recommendations given.

  • We absolutely understand that extreme fears and phobias are a real concern and can be an issue or a barrier even for some individuals to get vaccinations on board. We’ll phone you and talk through the process and any discuss any concerns. We’ll also help with developing a plan to manage your fears and discuss some possible mitigation strategies prior to your appointment. Please see below for some suggestions;

    • Having a support or second person with you.

    • Having any vaccination first thing in the morning to avoid worrying all day

    • Various distraction techniques can be worthwhile e.g. something else to look at, e.g., YouTube or TikTok on your phone, listening to music, what to cook for dinner…..

    • Prior to your appointment, practice breathing exercises, slow, deep breathing during vaccinations

  • Ideally a couple – 4 weeks before travel, however this is not absolute and you can never be too late to receive expert information, some vaccinations and scripts for anti-malarials for example.

    In situations where an International Certificate of Vaccination is required before entry into some countries is permitted, admittance may be denied until a specific time-frame has elapsed. So always best to book well in advance of your travel plans
